Hellooooo 3M fans! Yesterday we went to gymnastics at Balance in Research. It was a fantastic field trip because of the awesome activities. Please comment on the kinds of activities we did and which one was your favorite.
Eltham Copper Butterfly
This term we’ll be learning all about the Eltham Copper Butterfly. So far in 3M, we have written a description of the butterfly and have begun researching about its life cycle.
Here are just some of the interesting Eltham Copper Butterfly facts that we gathered as a class:
* The ECB has copper coloured wings that have a black outline.
* Its two forewings are thinner in width and longer than its two hind legs.
* On their head they have a proboscis that they use like a straw to eat food.
* This butterfly is the size of a 10c coin and their wing span is 2.5 cms.

It also has a pretty interesting relationship with local ants and plants in its habitat.
Question 1) What are these plants and ants called?
Question 2) How do they help each other?
Question 3) What is this kind of relationship called? Explain in detail.
